Tattva Magazine invites you to participate in its first-ever essay contest for youth!
Eligibility
The contest is open to all those who meet one of the following criteria:
1.) Currently enrolled undergraduate or gradate student
OR 2.) Anyone between the ages of 18 and 25 years.
Submissions will be accepted beginning October 1st, 2010. All essays must be submitted to essaycomp@hinduyuva.org by 11:59pm PST on November 30, 2010.
Topics
Submit an essay in response to either one of the following prompts.
1. How can Hindu philosophy contribute to American society today?
2. How can Hindus make temples in America places of worship, learning, and service?
Prizes
The benevolent sponsors of the 2010 Hinduism Awareness Essay Contest have enabled us to offer $1,200.00 in prizes. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded for each of the topics.
1st Place: $300.00 USD
2nd Place: $200.00 USD
3rd Place: $100.00 USD
Guidelines
* Essays must be 500-800 words
* Only 1 essay per person
* Participants must satisfy the eligibility requirements set forth above.
* Participants must be currently living in the United States of America
* All essays must be original work
* Email completed essay as a Microsoft Word or PDF attachment, along with your name, phone, email, and age to: essaycomp@hinduyuva.org
* Essays will be judged by a panel of several judges, including eminent Hinduism scholars, authors, and social activists
* Deadline for submission: November 30, 2010, 11:59pm PST
