Synopsis: Escalating levels of female infantacide have forced polyandry to become the norm. Aya lives with her three husbands Sem, Omar and Jerome. Despite being adored by each of them, Aya yearns for a fourth husband. Though she tries to cajole them to accept her plans, each man struggles to find his place. As the wedding draws closer, Aya makes a discovery that could jeporadise everything...
About Sharmila:
Pharmacist, pharmacologist and writer; Sharmila lives at the intersection of medicine and art; writing poetry, prose and plays. Shortlisted for the Asian New Writer award (2009), Sharmila’s short stories have been published online and in print, including Tell Tales Vol 2 and most recently Happy Birthday to Me, (a collection of contemporary Asian writing). In 2009 she was part of the Royal Court's Critical Mass programme and has written two plays to date. Fascinated by all things transgressive, Sharmila work searches to uncover the quiet meaning of peoples’ lives. She lives in South London with her husband, little boy and cat Tashi.
