ESSAY COMPETITION FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS ON
MONEY POWER & MUSCLE POWER IN ELECTIONS
One of the big concerns for the countrymen in recent times is about the behaviour of the politicians, most of whom are dishonest, corrupt and violent prone.
The distinction between unruly elements and politicians are becoming thin, making many wonder as to whether the politics in India would entirely go into the hands of unruly elements and dishonest people in future.
The place of rowdies in politics is more evident during the election process in the form of money power and muscle power.
There is urgent need to set right the conditions and find out suitable methods to do so. With youth population in the country constituting around 65%, the ball is now in the court of youth and student community.
Nandini Voice For The Deprived would organize an All India Essay Competition for college students on the subject.
“HOW TO DEFEAT THE MONEY POWER AND MUSCLE POWER IN THE ELECTORAL PROCESS”?
The essay competition is being organized with the objective of providing opportunity for the student community to express their views on the subject and provide recommendations for the consideration of Government of India and the Election Commission.
The essay should be of maximum 1500 words and can be written in English, Tamil or Hindi .
Last day for the receipt of the essay is 10th January 2011.
Ten of the best entries would be selected for the awards.
