We are launching the Arabic edition of an international business magazine and we are looking for a Managing Editor, to be based in Lebanon.
Scope:
Managing the editorial and production team and the day to day operation of the Magazine in all the markets.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for the development of the magazines' content and for the management of the editorial staff.
* Build a network of correspondents in all Arab markets mainly GCC countries; networks by attending events and conferences, and writes a monthly column if required
* Ensures the magazine operates within budget
* Liaising with NY to ensure all guidelines are met and up to the standard of the magainze
* Ensures editorial policy is carried out accordingly
* Overseeing and managing the daily operations of the magazine.
* Chairs editorial meetings and decides on the editorial direction; Planning the content and layout for different editions, including material to be published.
* Ensuring that articles are available on time and that the production process runs smoothly.
* Recruiting staff and regularly evaluating their performance.
* Monitoring operations and suggesting to the Publisher areas in which improvements can be made.
Qualifications:
* University degree in Media, Communications, Journalism or other related field. 7 to 10 years relevant experience in a similar position.
* Minimum 2 years of related experience with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
* Preferably Arabic speaker with excellent command of English and computer literate.
* Awareness on International markets
* Meticulous, and attentive to details
* Strong time management and analytical skills
* Regional experience is highly preferable.
