Term Lecturer/Teaching Associate
(English Language)
The School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) is a self-financed arm of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) that offers top-up degree programmes in collaboration with local and overseas universities. These programmes, offered in both full-time and part-time modes, are primarily designed for Higher Diploma graduates of the VTC. Applications are now invited for lecturing post for courses offered by SHAPE (Design) in the academic year 2010/2011.
Subject Area:
English for Academic Writing
Major Duties:
1. To conduct tutorials;
2. To provide guidance on students' academic writing and projects;
3. To prepare teaching & learning package;
4. To carry out academic related administration duties, including serving in academic and other related meetings, and any other duties as assigned; and
5. To participate in school projects and functions, where necessary.
Requirements:
1. A recognized bachelors' degree and a masters' degree in English Language or the relevant discipline;
2. At least 4 years of post-qualification teaching experience in English Language; and
3. Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
Note:
1. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Teaching Associate.
2. Preference will be given to candidates who are immediately available.
