CNN International is currently seeking high caliber candidates to join the busy team at our Asia news production center in Hong Kong.

Senior Editor – CNN.com CNN digital is seeking a Senior Editor to lead the digital editorial team in Asia, an inspiring leader who can move international digital news coverage forward. This senior manager is responsible for digital editorial output from Asia for CNN.com including CNN.com International and other services. He/she will work closely with TV colleagues to maximize the benefits of integrated journalism and be the focal person for the sales & business development teams. This person will be well versed in social media and how to apply it to benefit our coverage. The job reports to the VP for CNNI Digital Services but also takes direction from the managing Editor of CNN in Hong Kong.

Job Responsibilities:

• To help shape and communicate the editorial direction of the business and to lead staff in executing on that promise day to day. Be the point person for daily and longer term editorial issues, as far as possible; assign and delegate stories and projects to producers; working closely with editorial colleagues in Hong Kong, other production centers and other CNN bureaus.

• Drive innovation in our digital journalism, promoting new technology and fresh creative ways to tell stories, actively participate in the editorial development and production of our mobile portfolio.

• Work with TV colleagues, affiliates, CNN Wire staff and other partners to identify and work toward further TV-Digital integration, including increasing the amount of original, distinct journalism that is published on digital platforms. Be a leader of our content ownership strategy.

• To be a point person for Adsales, Business Development and other commercial colleagues, updating on initiatives and editorial performance and collaborating on fresh solutions to commercial opportunities, helping devise pitches for sales’ clients; and be responsible for successful execution of sponsored content on digital platforms.

Requirements:

• University graduate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in senior editorial role and a specialist grounding in internet news services. • A proven track record of producing original news stories for digital platforms.

• TV newsroom experience and an understanding of TV newsgathering and production techniques. Sound knowledge and experience of international news and current affairs.

• Experience of managing a team, dealing with the public and other broadcasting organizations; comfort with social media and how it can be applied to news. Knowledge of trends and products and services in Mobile.

• Strong team and communication skills. Native English a must and other Asian language a plus.
