Paying Market: GPSmyCity.com Seeks Travel Articles
Deadline: open

We are looking for people with excellent writing skills, who are passionate about the city they live in, to jointly create iPhone applications for self-guided city walking tours.

How We Work Together

We have developed a cutting-edge technology platform for publishing self-guided city walking tours on iPhone and iPod Touch, and have by now published such applications for more than 150 cities worldwide. We are now looking for authors to work on the next generation city walking tour applications.

As a tour author, you will:

* Propose new ideas for walking tours
* Write descriptions and take photos of tour sights
* Collect sight addresses and GPS coordinates
* Record a voice narration for tour attractions

We will turn your tour into a fully-fledged iPhone app, which will include features such as tour route map, turn-by-turn directions from one sight to the next, built-in compass, findme, and more. And we will publish it in the iTunes App Store.

Royalty Payment

Your relationship with GPSmyCity.com will be similar to that between a book author and a publisher, with you being the author. We offer two payment options:

* Option A: You will receive a royalty payment for each copy of iPhone app sold. Namely, you will receive 50% of the net sales revenue which is the gross sales revenue minus the sales commission (30% of the gross sales) charged by Apple.
* Option B: You will receive a one-time payment of $25 for each approved guide and a royalty payment in the amount of 30% of the net sales revenue. Note: Option B is only valid for major cities.

Your Qualifications:

* Native English speaker with excellent writing skills (please feel free to send us your writing samples). Travel writers and bloggers are particularly welcome.
* Must have lived in the city of choice for at least six months.
* Owning an iPhone is preferred but not required.
