Dinamalar, a leading Tamil daily newspaper, has a weekly magazine supplement called ‘Siruvarmalar‘, aimed at 10-20 year olds. This supplement is being reformatted as a weekly black & white comics magazine. They are currently on the lookout for original comics stories in serialized form. Each weekly chapter for a story will be 10 pages, so the comics author is expected to submit 40 pages a month. The story should run for a minimum of 3 months, (12 weeks). Longer stories are welcome. Themes can be fantasy, science fiction, non-fiction, adventure, realist fiction. Remuneration is per page and is attractive.

Non-Tamil speakers can send their contributions in English, and they will be translated into Tamil inhouse. This allows anyone from all over India to contribute.

To contribute, send a story synopsis and 2 sample pages to krishnamurthy@dinamalar.in

Dinamalar is keen to begin the magazine as early as possible, so if you wish to contribute, please do so as soon as possible.

This is the first time that a weekly serialized b&w comics magazine is being attempted. Looking forward to its success as a worthy addition to the Indian comics scene, through the continued support of comics authors and readers.
