National-Level Essay Competition: “Empowering People Through Grama Sabha - the Root of Indian Democracy”

The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Directorate of Field Publicity, in coordination with the District Administration, are conducting a national-level essay writing competition to mark the celebration of ‘year of gram sabha for empowered people and accountable panchayats”. The theme of the competition is “Empowering people through grama sabha-the root of Indian democracy” and the competition is meant to create awareness among the youth about the grassroot democracy, Field Publicity Officer M.S. Mahesh said in a statement.

All those above 15 years of age can participate in the competition. A passport size photo must be pasted on the right-hand corner of the entry. Last date for receiving the entries is September 24 and are to be sent to the office of the Field Publicity Officer, Government of India, at 38-37-22, Bhaskar Gardens, Marripalem, Visakhapatnam-530 018.

25 essays would be short-listed for final selection at the national level.
