I am glad to inform you that I am going to edit one volume of research papers on Anita Desai (b.1937), Indian English novelist and short story writer who has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize three times and was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1978 for her novel, Fire on the Mountain, by the Sahitya Akademi, India's National Academy of Letters. Authentic, scholarly and unpublished research papers are invited from scholars/faculty/researchers/writers/professors from all over the world for this volume tentatively titled as Anita Desai’s Fiction: A Study through Different Perspectives.

Proposed Publisher:

The volume will be published with an ISBN (International Standard Book Number) by renowned Delhi based publisher.

Thematic Focus of the Volume:

The articles should be on any theme of any work of Anita Desai including Cry, The Peacock (1963), Voices in the City (1965), Bye-Bye, Blackbird (1971), The Peacock Garden (1974), Where Shall We Go This Summer? (1975), Cat on a Houseboat (1976), Fire on the Mountain (1977), Games at Twilight and Other Stories (1978), Clear Light of Day (1980), Village by the Sea (1982), In Custody (1984), Baumgartner's Bombay (1988), Journey to Ithaca (1996), Fasting, Feasting (1999), Diamond Dust (2000), The Zigzag Way ( 2004) etc.

Editing requirements:

* Paper size: A4, Font size: Times New Roman 12, Spacing: 1.5 line, Margin of 1 inch on all four sides.
* Title of the paper: bold, title case, centered.
* Text of the paper: justified.
* References: Please follow MLA style strictly. Don’t use Foot Notes, Use End Notes
* Titles of books: italics.
* Titles of articles: quoted.
* Articles should be submitted as MS Word attachments.
* The paper should not usually exceed 16 pages maximum, 8 pages minimum in 1.5 spacing.
* A short-bio data of the contributor(s) indicating name, institutional affiliation, career history, postal address, mobile number and e-mail in a separate attachment.
* Abstract of paper about 300 words with maximum 5 key words in separate attachment.
* Each paper must be accompanied by a declaration that it is an original work and has not been published anywhere else.
* The papers submitted should evince serious academic work contributing new knowledge or innovative critical perspectives on the subject explored.

Mode of Submission:
Each contributor is advised to send (i) Brief bio-note (ii) Abstract of 300 words with 5key words (iii) Full paper and (iv) A declaration that it is an original work and has not been published anywhere, as MS-Word email attachments to my email addresses: amnawale@gmail.com up to 15th Oct. 2010. The contributors are also supposed to submit one hard copy of (i) Brief bio-note (ii) Abstract of 300 words with 5key words (iii) Full paper and (iv) A declaration, typed in above mentioned format on postal address given bellow. One hard copy is required for our record. Without hard copy no paper will be considered for publication.

Selection Procedure:
All submissions will be sent for peer reviewing. Final selection will be made only if the papers are recommended for publication by the reviewers. The details of the selection of your paper will be informed to you telephonically or on your email. The editors will have the right to make necessary editing of selected papers for the sake of conceptual clarity and formatting. Non-selected papers will not be sent back to the contributor in any form. So, all contributors are advised to keep a copy of their submission with them.

All submissions should be original and must be accompanied by a declaration that it is an original work and has not been published anywhere else.
