Deadline: June 2011
Beyond Halakha
The Remapping of Traditionalism, Secularism and New Age Culture in Israel (Hebrew)
Editors: Gideon Katz, Shalom Ratzabi, Yaacov Ydgar
Editorial board: Avi Bareli, Yoram Bilu, Yehuda Goodman, Boaz Huss, David Jacobson
The coming thematic volume of the journal Iyunim Bitkuma Yisrael will be devoted to secularism, traditionalism, the 'New Age', and spirituality in Israeli society and culture. The editors hope to publish a collection of studies that goes beyond the 'rigid' boundaries of the 'religious-secular divide' and the conventional modern-traditional, rational-mystical dichotomy.
The articles will not be limited to specific disciplines and research fields but open to a wide range of fields (sociology, anthropology, literary scholarship, philosophy, history, and so forth). The editors welcome diverse disciplinary approaches. Articles will be accepted in Hebrew, and on condition that they have not been previously published in any language.
Please submit the articles to the editorial staff email address - omiller@bgu.ac.il - no later than June 2011.
