Deadline: 28 August 2010
Geographical Restrictions: none
Reading Fee: none
Accepts (genre): short stories
Prize/Payment: $65
Wordrunner Electronic Chapbooks publishes online collections of fiction, poetry or memoir (personal narrative) quarterly. Guidelines are different for each collection, so please visit again.
Collections of short fiction by one author will be considered for the mid-September e-chapbook.
Submissions will be accepted beginning July 1, 2010. Last day to submit is August 28, 2010. (Deadline has been extended one week.)
Stories may be flash or longer, from 600 up to 2,000 words* each, totalling a minimum of approximately 8,000 and a maximum of 14,000 words for the collection.
*Longer stories are acceptable if they fit in the collection. Quality trumps word counts.
The stories should belong together for some reason, be it theme, location or character/s. Submit your best work only. Each story should be original and compelling. No genre fiction, please, unless a story is good enough to transcend genre.
At least half of the collection should be previously unpublished. (But no stories need be previously published.)
Email manuscripts to editor@echapbook.com with FICTION SUBMISSION in the subject line. Attach only ONE FILE (Word or WordPerfect or RTF), which includes a title for the collection and a list of contents, followed by the stories. Indicate which stories, if any, were previously published and where.
Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, but only one chapbook collection per author. Please notify Wordrunner Electronic Chapbooks if your collection, or any part of it, is accepted elsewhere.
There is no fee for open submissions.
Payment, beginning with September issue: $65.
