Goa Konkani Akademi Names the Winners of its Third Annual Literary Awards

The following are the winners of GKA's annual literary awards announced last August 27th in Panaji:

Sahitya Pratibha Puraskar Award - Ramesh Veluskar for his outstanding contribution to Konkani literature, and Tanaji Halarnkar for his work in the field of research, education, and translation.

Poetry - Mangala Karapurkar, Utsav

Short Story - Maya Kharangate, Mrugzal

One-act Play - Hanumant Chopdekar, Kuvaddi'

Essay - John M. Alfonso, Jinnechi Vatt

Research - Shridhar Barve, Tabla

Children's Literature - Ratnamala Divkar, Girmitt

Meanwhile, Bessy Kadavil of Kuwait University has been selected to receive an award from Pravasa Malayala Sahitya Vedi for her collection of poems Karutha Kanikonna.
