Paying Market: Death Rattle Magazine
Death Rattle Magazine is open to submissions.

Short stories should be between 1000-10,000 words (firm)

Poetry must be a maximum of 100 lines. There is no minimum.

Stories and Poems must be in the horror genre.

Unlike some other zines, I have no problem with zombies, vampires, or werewolves as long as the story is interesting. I also have no problem with ironic or humorous twists, I actually find them entertaining.

Payment is a flat $10 per short story or $5 per poem, payable on publication.

Please only submit one story or poem at a time and no simultaneous submissions.

We do not accept reprints.

We acquire First Serial Rights.

All stories will be edited. Authors should expect to spend some time working with the editor to come up with the most well-written story possible.

We do not accept snail mailed submissions.

Submit story in .rtf format as an attachment. Manuscripts should be in standard format, 12 pt Courier, double spaced.

Cover letter should give approximate word count (for stories) and list any previous publications by the author.
