Specializations: Priority fields include, but are not limited to: TEFL (training English language teachers), public policy, public administration, management, international relations and American studies, literature or history.

Grant Activity: Teach one or more undergraduate courses per semester or teach and conduct research. Undertake student advising and advise on curriculum and materials development. Applicants in TEFL should have experience in teacher training. Occasional lectures at other institutions may be requested. Applicants for teaching or teaching/research awards should describe proposed courses and should expect to provide their own teaching materials. Applicants for teaching/research awards must submit a detailed research plan and specify locations of data collection.

Additional Qualifications: Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of university teaching experience. Applicants in TEFL with a Ph.D. should have a minimum of 3 years of university teaching experience; those with an MA should have 10 years of experience.

Length Of Grant: 4 months to 9 months

Starting Date: June 2011 or February 2012

The U.S. does not have an embassy in Bhutan. The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India manages the Fulbright Program with Bhutan. The Fulbright grant also provides for briefings with U.S. Embassy personnel in New Delhi before and after the grant.
