The Chito S. Rono Literary Awards
The Chito S. Roño Literary Awards for poetry, fiction and drama—which has been launched during the opening ceremony of the 7th Lamiraw workshop. In order to boost the revival of the literature of Eastern Visayas, entries in said literary contest must be written in Waray, Sebuano or Inabaknon The contest’s sponsor, Chito Roño, renowned film director and a native of Calbayog, was also this year’s workshop keynote speaker.

The Chito S. Rono Literary Awards now invites writers in Eastern Visyas (Region 8) to join this annual literary contest to be held in Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU). Waray and Inabaknon writers are the target contestants of this competition. You may send in entries in the following categories: poetry, fiction and play.
