2010 Youth Summer Islamic Fiction Story Contest
General Guidelines

1. This contest is open to any Muslim girl or boy from 9 through 13 years old.

2. Contest submission dates are July 15 through August 15. Entries will not be accepted after August 15, 2010.

3. IF Stories should be sent to: widadld@yahoo.com as an email attachment. In the Subject line of the email write: IF Story Submission

4. Be sure that your parent has approved you entering this contest by providing your name, your age, your parent’s name, your mailing address, and an email address for your parent at the end of your IF story.

Preparing your story (format)

1. Stories should be typed in an MS Word document

2. Use Times New Roman font and 12 point font size

3. Use 1 inch margins

Your parent or older sibling can help you format your story.

4. Length of story: Minimum word count must be no less than 500 words and Maximum word count no more than 1,500 words.

5. Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation will be one factor used to judge your story so be sure to check these important writing rules.

6. Do not put any graphics, color, or use any fancy fonts with your story. This will cause your story to lose points.

Prizes:

First Place Winning Story: $50 book gift certificate
Second Place Winning Story: $40 book gift certificate
Third Place Winning Story: $30 book gift certificate

All three winning Islamic Fiction Stories will be published on the Islamic Fiction Books blog at: www.IslamicFictionBooks.wordpress.com

Each girl or boy who submits a story to the contest will have their name, country where they live, and title of their story published at the Islamic Fiction Books blog.
