The prize is $1,000, awarded for the single overall winner of the poems chosen to be published. Priory will pay the sum in US Dollars.
To Enter
The Manner of submission is by internet application. It is not necessary for any entrant to forward any money to submit a valid entry. No contribution is required or sought from any entrant in the Competition to be made to the charitable donations related to the works of Priory.
To Win
The Judge will be an independent person as Priory shall appoint (‘the Judge’). If the Judge withdraws or is unable to perform his functions as Judge Priory shall promptly appoint a replacement who shall likewise be independent. The winners shall be chosen at the Judges independent understanding and assessment of quality and content. The Judge's decision to the winning selection, and all other matters concerning the Competition, is final, and no correspondence as to such matters will be entered into.
Eligibility
All entrants must be over the age of 14. All entrants must submit their entries under their true legal name. Any entries found to have been submitted under a false or assumed name or alias will be disqualified. Only one person may win each allocated prize. No entries expressed to be made by, or on behalf of, more than one person will be accepted, although any Winner may share their prize with others as the Winner may choose or agree with such others. Priory shall not be affected by notice of any such agreement, and will the prize directly to the nominated Winner.
Priory, and its employees, agents and consultants and members of their families (whether married or not) and households are ineligible to participate in the Competition.
All entries submitted must be the original work of those submitting the entry. In the act of forwarding an entry for submission for the Competition, the entrant relinquishes the copyright ownership of the material submitted to Priory Publications (GB) Ltd, and passing the ownership of copyright to Priory to publish the material freely. Any entry received that is submitted by entrant not in possession of the Copyright of the work will be disqualified. If it is discovered, after Priory has published an entry, that the entrant was not originally in possession of the relevant copyright, and as such invalidates Priory receiving copyright via submission, Priory will take appropriate legal action against the entrant, if such an act has been proven, or any legal action that is forwarded to Priory from any third party proving, or attempting to prove original ownership to the submission.
For last date of submission, this date can be found on the entry form linked to this competition.
The Winners Announcement
Following the receipt by Priory of the successful entries and the winners that the Judge considers to final, 28 days will be allowed for Priory to verify all successful entries have abided by the Rules of the Competition. In the event that any entrant has not abided by the Rules of the Competition, he will forfeit their prize.
If entrants appear to have abided to the Rules of the Competition, to the level that practical investigations allow, they will receive a confirmation email to the address added to the submission details.
Entrants understand that the prizes will be forward by bank cheque, made payable to the name stated on the submission details. This will be sent by exclusive recorded delivery.
