$30,000.00 Writing Tournament

23 June 2010
$30,000.00 Writing Tournament
The writing tournament will have between 8 and 10 rounds. In each round except the first one, we expects to eliminate half of the participants. Anything submitted to the writing tournament will remain on the iwriteit.com website for one year, although under our normal revenue sharing model, the winner of the grand prize's writings will remain on the site in perpetuity. All other works uploaded will remain the property of the author alone. The deadline for entry is July 1, 2010. A writer may enter by uploading any writing to the website. I Write It is the sole judge of the elections and or selection process.

The First Round will be judged exclusively by I Write It. There are no rules regarding the writing of the first round other than it has to be original and the entrant has to have written it. After the first round selection for succeeding rounds will be based on user voting. The rules and means of voting will be determined by I Write It.

The length of succeeding rounds entries will be limited as will the writing topics which may be addressed. For example, a round may specify that the entry must be under 20,000 words or touch on a subject. The winner will receive a $30,000.00 within 30 days of the announcement of their win. Finally, 10% of the ad revenue from the writing contest will be donated to the Peace Corps Women in Development Program.
