The organizers are proud to present the congress' Key Note Speakers for this September 2010: Miss Renata Salecl and Mr. Ko Un.
Ko Un grew up during the Japanese occupation of Korea at a time when speaking Korean was prohibited and considered a crime. Ko Un is one of the most prominent poets of his time and as such repeatedly mentioned as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Salecl is Centennial Professor in the Law Faculty at the London School of Economics, London and a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Criminology at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana. Her work focuses on bringing together law, criminology, and psychoanalysis. Salecl: "What happens when once powerful word empties out; what is the power struggle behind such emptying, is there a need for the reinterpretation of their meaning or the invention of new ones?”
