Paying Market: Hazard Cat

Paying Market: Hazard Cat
We accept submissions in any genre, but we want cats. Any cat, all cats, good cats, bad cats. Cats as a theme. Go crazy. We like stories under 5000 words, but if your story is longer, go ahead and send it. Response time is one month. Simultaneous submissions are a good thing. We'll usually get back to you sooner than one month, but things happen, like foot surgery! There is no line limit on poetry.

We are now accepting essays and personal stories about cats. We are broadening things for our contributors and readers! We don't like excessive violence, but we may not shield our eyes and have nightmares if it fits the story.

Don't make fun of people. Make fun of dogs. Your use of cats can be as creative as you want.

Payment:

We can now pay our contributors more. We pay 1/2 cent per word for short stories, essays, and personal stories that are accepted for publication. We pay $5 for poetry and art. We place your work on the blog and buy first publishing rights. We also take reprints. If you want us to take your work down, we will do so at any time. Very Important: Hazard Cat only pays through PayPal.

How to Submit:

Please email your submission in the body of an email, no attachments, to hazardcatsubmissions (at) yahoo.com. For art, you can send attachments. Specify in the subject of your email what you are submitting: Fiction, Poetry, Essay, Personal Story or Art. Please submit only one type of submission at a time. This means you can submit one piece of art, one poem, one essay, one personal story and one work of fiction at a time.
