About the Speakers:

Daniyal Mueenuddin
Daniyal Mueenuddin won critical acclaim with his first collection of stories, In Other Rooms, Other Wonders. It was the winner of The Story Prize. The book was a finalist for the 2009 National Book Awards. In addition, it is also a finalist for the 2010 Commonwealth Writers' Prize (Best First Book).

Shandi Mitchell
Shandi Mitchell is a Canadian writer and film maker. Her debut novel, Under This Unbroken Sky is the regional winner for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, Best First Book (Canada and the Caribbean). Her short films have been screened at numerous international festivals, and she is a recipient of a Canada Council for the Arts endowment.

Michael Crummey
Michael Crummey's first collection was Arguments with Gravity. Later he turned to fiction with the short-story collection Flesh and Blood. River Thieves, a national bestseller was his first novel and was also shortlisted for the Giller Prize. His latest release Galore is one of the regional winners for the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, Best Book.
