Teaching Assistant (English Cultural Literacy)

[Monthly Basic Salary: HK$15,785 – HK$24,120]

Duties
The appointee will be responsible for providing assistance in course planning, development, coordination and delivery, and where necessary, undertake classroom teaching for the project of English Cultural Literacy. He/She will also be expected to participate in School/University activities.

Requirements
Applicants should have at least a recognized bachelor’s degree, preferably a higher degree, in English Literature or a relevant discipline. Relevant teaching/professional experience in the following areas is preferred: (1) World Englishes and Cultures; (2) Modern British and American Drama and Short Stories; (3) Children’s Literature; (4) Hong Kong Literature in English; (5) Classic American Films; (6) Hitchcock Films; and (7) English in International Media, Popular Culture and Songs. Native or near-native proficiency in English is required.

Terms of Appointment
Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, subject to renewal by mutual consent. A 1-year package includes monthly basic salary, annual leave, medical & dental schemes and contract-end gratuity (inclusive of such statutory benefits as the Mandatory Provident Fund).
