Description: The DSC South Asian Literature Festival is the UK’s first major literature festival dedicated to the rich and varied cultures of the South Asian Subcontinent, from India and Pakistan through to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. It is about showcasing a rich storytelling heritage in all its forms – imagery, film, music, dance and art through the central prism of words. In over two weeks and through dozens of events the festival will visit some of the great performing arts venues of London and reach out into the local communities, schools and libraries across London boroughs. The festival is based on the principles of partnership with venues, with local arts organisations, and with publishers, authors and artists: a collaborative effort to engage with the many divergent communities of the UK and create a new and exciting platform in the UK for established and emerging South Asian writing.
