Monthly Basic Salary for Assistant Professor: HK$44,880 – HK$67,620
Monthly Basic Salary for Lecturer: HK$27,910 – HK$48,400

Duties

The appointee(s) will mainly be responsible for the planning, development, coordination and delivery (including classroom teaching) of courses, and where necessary, programme administration in Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History, Chinese Philosophy or related disciplines. He/she will be expected to undertake/engage in scholarly activities and participate in School/University activities and administration.

Requirements

For the post of Assistant Professor, applicants should normally have an earned doctorate in a relevant discipline. They should also have relevant teaching/professional experience (preferably including course administration), a record of research and peer-reviewed publications and involvement in professional and community activities. A good command of Chinese (preferably including Putonghua) and English is required.

For the post of Lecturer, applicants should have at least a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in a relevant discipline. They should also have relevant teaching/professional experience. A good command of Chinese (preferably including Putonghua) and English is required.

Terms of Appointment

Appointment will initially be made on either a 1-year or 2-year contract, subject to renewal by mutual consent. A 1-year package includes monthly basic salary, annual leave, medical & dental schemes and contract-end gratuity (inclusive of such statutory benefits as the Mandatory Provident Fund). A more favourable package will be offered to a 2-year appointment.
