Description: TABOAN: The Philippines International Writers Festival 2009 is a celebration of the written word as it is practiced in our country today. For three days, it assembles writers from different regions for them to get to know one another, speak their minds out on various topics and issues of the day, and discover new ways of performing the word and turning it upside down. Senior and junior writers alike will be here—but especially the younger writers on whose enormous pool of talent the NCCA had kept faith in for more than a decade now. We have even invited—and we are happy they could come—two young writers from Vietnam and Thailand to partake of our feast of words.
