Description: We are native English speakers living in mainland China and dedicated to the translation of Chinese literary fiction into English. Every one of us has learned Chinese by living on its streets and among its people, puzzling through its texts, using it to survive. This site is meant as an introduction to our translations, and as a (necessarily incomplete) repository of information about Chinese literature. By looking at our individual sections you can learn who we are and what we're translating. If you happen to be some sort of publisher in search of translators well that's excellent. If you're just curious about Chinese literature, you're equally welcome to browse. Translations on this site are posted with the consent of the authors, where possible, and are copyright the translator – please contact us if you'd like to know more. You can contact us through the contact page, or general inquiries can be directed to info (at) paper-republic.org. Some author photos on this site have been taken from the internet – if we have used your photographic work without attribution, please let us know.
