Description: As the name of this website suggests, Malaysian Writers on the Net is about Malaysian writers on the Net. Well, that was the original purpose – to provide an online presence for published Malaysian writers. While this remains the main focus of the site, we do realise that the Malaysian book publishing industry – or any country’s book publishing industry – is not just about writers. Writers are just the tip of the entire book publishing iceberg. They are the most visible aspect, i.e., the “face” of this industry, which perhaps explains why many books have pictures of their authors, usually filling the entire outside back cover. But book publishing is not just about writers and their books. It also includes other aspects, without which writers and books cannot come into being.
