Late Cambodian Monk's Poems to be Published
Ly Van Aggadipo's collection of poems on the brutal communist Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia will be printed in its original Khmer and in English. Ly Van died in 2008, and left a diary where he wrote poems tucked under stacks of old Buddhist texts. The poems are handwritten and carefully drafted, describing the writer's memories of starvation, labor camps, executions and escape to America.

Serving as the book's editor is Samkhann Khoeun. He will work with other refugees on the translation. Local non-profit groups have agreed to help with the publication cost.
