Deadline: The final date for submissions is June 14th 2010.
Seoul Writers Workshop is inviting submissions for the 2010 anthology, to be published October 2010.
Every Second Sunday is the annual English language anthology published by Seoul Writers Workshop; the first anthology was released in December 2008. While as a rule we do not have a ‘theme,’ authors must have lived in Korea at some point during the period October 2009 – October 2010.
Submissions are evaluated by an outside panel of writers and poets, and former Seoul Writers Workshop members no longer living in Korea. While membership in SWW is not mandatory for submissions, we suggest you join the group to receive updates on deadlines, publication and the launch party. You will also be kept up to date on workshops, write-ins and other events which SWW hold in and around Seoul on a regular basis.
If you want your submission to be workshopped by SWW at one of our regular Sunday workshops, please do so before submitting it to the anthology. Again, while this is not mandatory for submission, it may help you in your editing process to receive multiple points of view on your work. While the editorial committee may ask you to make some minor adjustments to your work, we will not allow changes or submissions of new drafts after the deadline.
Submissions Guidelines
Short Fiction
Maximum 7000 words.
Short fiction is defined as a short story or a portion of a longer work which can ’stand alone.’ Submissions must be in English, however limited use of Korean or any another language is acceptable for artistic purposes. No previously published material; simultaneous submissions accepted.
Poetry
No maximum line limit
Poetry is defined as any variation of traditional, modern or prose poetry
Submissions must be in English, however limited use of Korean or any another language is acceptable for artistic purposes.
