Submit Your Stories to Concisely
Concisely Magazine is interested in publishing stories under 500 words.

The deadline for our third issue is April 30th, but we will continue to accept submissions after this date. We publish quarterly and review work year-round. Our next deadline will be July 31st.

We are interested in both fiction and nonfiction, but are more interested in narrative than exposition. We want stories, not essays. Work of any genre or theme is welcome. We do not, however, publish any poetry. Please, no previously published work or simultaneous submissions. Please limit submissions to two stories per issue.

Submissions should be sent to editor@conciselymagazine.com with “Concisely Submission – Author’s Name” as the subject. Submissions may be included in the body of the email or attached in any standard format.

You should receive an email confirming receipt of your story within a few days of sending it to Concisely. You should expect to hear whether we are interested in publishing your piece within eight weeks, though we often respond much quicker. If we’re planning to include it in the magazine, we will invite you to send a bio (up to 100 words) at that time.

Concisely Magazine asks for first serial rights and permission to copy edit your work. If we are interested in posting your work as a sample on our website, we will seek your explicit permission. All contributors get a complimentary copy of the magazine and a significantly reduced price on additional copies.
