Marathi Literary Meet: City to Play Host, Poet Karandikar to Open Show
Renowned Marathi poet Vinda Karandikar will inaugurate the 83rd All India Marathi Literary Meet which will be held in the city from March 26 to 28. Karandikar will recite his poems at the inaugural ceremony. The meet will have seminars on 'Literature of Saints and Twenty-first Century', 'Marathi Poetry and Rural Reality', 'Freedom of Expression and Social Pressure', 'New Directions in Marathi Literature', 'Marathi Writing outside India' and 'Making Marathi Compulsory in Maharashtra'.

There will be two poetry sessions presided by N D Mahanor and Yashwant Manohar and special interviews with Sahitya Akademi award winner Syam Manohar and Meghana Pethe. Another highlight of the meet will be felicitation of author Jyotsna Deodhar and publisher S V Joshi for their contribution to Marathi literature and special felicitation of Leeladhar Hegde, Shahir Sable and Atmaram Patil for their contribution to Samyukta Maharashtra Movement.
