Description: Founded in 2006, The Asia House Festival of Asian Literature is the only festival in the UK dedicated to writing about Asia and Asians. It provides a unique and imaginative opportunity for audiences to experience Asian and British Asian culture through literature. The Festival takes place, in May each year, at Asia House in Marylebone, Central London. Over the first three Festivals participants have included: Man Booker Prize winners Kiran Desai and Aravind Adiga, Sir Mark Tully, former UN Under-secretary of state Shashi Tharoor, Tahmima Anam, Tash Aw, Amit Chaudhuri, Patrick Cockburn, William Dalrymple, Amitav Ghosh, Xiaolu Guo, Mohsin Hamid, Mohammed Hanif, Will Hutton, Ma Jian, Hardeep Singh Kohli, David Loyn, Daniyal Mueenuddin, Azar Nafisi, Kamila Shamsie, Michael Wood, Xinran and BBC correspondents John Simpson and Frank Gardner.
