DOHA Bazm-e-Urdu Qatar (BUQ), the oldest Urdu literary organisation in Qatar, released Kuliyat-e-Mumtaz Rashed, a collection of Urdu poetry books, written by Qatari based poet andwriter Mohammed Mumtaz Rashed Hasan Abdul Karim Choughle, a well-known Indian businessman and patron of literary activities, released the book at a function held at Shezan Hotel, recently.
Rana Mohammed Ayub, a patron of BUQ, attended the function as the chief guest. The session opened with the recitation of some verses of Holy Quran by Abdur Rahman Farid Nadwi. BUQ president Amjad Ali Sarwar welcomed the guests and briefed about the books released by the organisation so far. Kuliyat-e-Mumtaz Rashed is the first Kuliyat in Qatar and the collection of five poetry books of famous poet and BUQ’s chairman Mohammed Mumtaz Rashed. The book, published by Al Qamar Enterprises, Lahore, Pakistan, contains various forms of poetry such as Ghazal, Qitta, Hamd, Munajat and Na’at.
